Inference on Randomly Censored Regression Models Using Conditional Moment Inequalities∗

چکیده
Under a conditional quantile restriction, randomly censored regression models can be written in terms of conditional moment inequalities. We study the identified features of these moment inequalities with respect to the regression parameters. These inequalities restrict the parameters to a set. We then show regular point identification can be achieved under a set of interpretable sufficient conditions. Our results generalize existing work on randomly censored models in that we allow for covariate dependent censoring, endogenous censoring and endogenous regressors. We then provide a simple way to convert conditional moment inequalities into unconditional ones while preserving the informational content. Our method obviates the need for nonparametric estimation, which would require the selection of smoothing parameters and trimming procedures. Maintaining the point identification conditions, we propose a quantile minimum distance estimator which converges at the parametric rate and has an asymptotically normal distribution. A small scale simulation study and an application using drug relapse data demonstrate satisfactory finite sample performance.

Set Estimation and Inference with Models Characterized by Conditional Moment Inequalities
This paper studies set estimation and inference of models characterized by conditional moment inequalities. A consistent set estimator and a con dence set are provided in this paper. Previous studies on set estimation and inference with conditional moment inequalities typically use only a nite set of moment inequalities implied by the conditional moment inequalities. We consider an alternative...
متن کاملMultiscale Adaptive Inference on Conditional Moment Inequalities
This paper considers inference for conditional moment inequality models using a multiscale statistic. We derive the asymptotic distribution of this test statistic and use the result to propose feasible critical values that have a simple analytic formula. We also propose critical values based on a modified bootstrap procedure and prove their asymptotic validity. The asymptotic distribution is ex...
متن کاملClassical and Bayesian Inference in Two Parameter Exponential Distribution with Randomly Censored Data
Abstract. This paper deals with the classical and Bayesian estimation for two parameter exponential distribution having scale and location parameters with randomly censored data. The censoring time is also assumed to follow a two parameter exponential distribution with different scale but same location parameter. The main stress is on the location parameter in this paper. This parameter has not...
متن کاملMinimum Distance Estimation of Randomly Censored Regression Models with Endogeneity
This paper proposes minimum distance estimation procedures for the slope coefficients and location parameter in randomly censored regression models that are used in duration and competing risk models. The proposed procedure generalizes existing work in terms of weakening the restrictions imposed on the distribution of the error term and the censoring variable. Examples of such generalizations i...
متن کاملBootstrapping the Conditional Moment Test for Parametric Duration Models
This letter evaluates the performance of auxiliary regression-based specification tests for parametric duration models estimated with censored data. The test using asymptotic critical values has poor size. Bootstrapping corrects the size problem but results in a biased power curve.
